Servicing your car's oil is a critical component of vehicle maintenance that should not be overlooked. By ensuring that your engine is always properly lubricated and running smoothly, regular oil changes will help to extend the life of your engine and improve its performance. At TMJ Bimmers we recommend an oil service on our customer’s vehicles every 6 months or 6K miles using only the highest quality fully synthetic oil that meets the specifications of each vehicle & high quality OEM-oil filters. And, while this may be sooner than your dash indicator light suggests, remember the light is set by the manufacturer who is in the business of selling new vehicles before they are interested in servicing these earlier models.

Here are the main reasons why changing your car's oil is critical and what you need to know to keep your car running smoothly:

Lubrication: Engine oil acts as a lubricant, reducing friction and wear between the internal moving parts. Over time, the oil becomes contaminated with dirt, debris, and other particles, reducing its ability to lubricate the engine. Regular oil changes ensure that your engine is always lubricated and protected from wear and tear and performing at its best!

Engine Cleanliness: Oil changes also help to remove particles from the engine, preventing build-up and blockages. Over time, the oil can become saturated with these particles, reducing its ability to clean the engine and potentially causing engine damage. Regular oil changes keep the oil fresh and your engine clean.

Improved Performance: Fresh oil helps to improve the engine's performance, providing better fuel efficiency and smoother operation. Engine oil that has been in use for a long time can cause the engine to work harder, reducing fuel efficiency and performance. Regular oil changes keep the engine running smoothly and improve overall performance.

Extended Engine Life: Regular oil changes can extend the life of your engine by reducing wear and tear, preventing build-up, and maintaining cleanliness. Engines that suffer long term damage from inadequate lubrication (i.e. skipping oil changes) can suffer from significant damage resulting in costly repairs or even engine failure.

Remember that Engine oil is the lifeblood of your vehicle’s engine. And we cannot stress enough the importance of regular oil changes to maintain the health and longevity of your high performance vehicle.
